Volunteer

NJ Goals Ahead is fortunate to welcome a large group of enthusiastic volunteers to our program each season.  When you are passionate about ice hockey – and all of our volunteers are – it is easy to recruit adult coaches and the high school athletes who support them.

High School Athletes:

NJGA views enrollment of High School student volunteers as fundamental to our mission.  Aside from our staff of professional volunteer head coaches, NJGA enrolls High School aged hockey athletes as volunteer assistant coaches. These young men and women play for area high school and travel teams, and enjoy their opportunity to ‘give something back’ while serving as role models for children just taking up the sport. 

NJGA has also initiated a program that provides homework tutoring/subject support to participants in need from qualified high school students with strong academic standing.  Click here to download NJGA Student Volunteer application.

Adult Coaches: 

NJGA encourages the volunteerism of area hockey coaches with youth hockey coaching experience.  Coaches should be USA Hockey certified; if not certified, NJGA can direct coaches to training sessions which are offered frequently.  Please contact NJGA for information on how you can offer your time to coach with NJGA.
